SALVATION

Acts 2:38

If you want to make Heaven your home for all of eternity, the Bible gives specific instruction on how to ensure your name is written in the Lamb's book of life. Lets look at what the Bible says about obtaining eternal salvation.

Bible Lessons

Repentance

The first step in receiving salvation is to repent. The word repent means to "turn away from". Jesus requires that we ask him for forgiveness and then turn away from sin. Because we are a flawed and sinful generation as those who have come before us, we must live our lives at the foot of the cross and daily seek for forgiveness. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent..." (Acts 2:38 KJV)

Be Baptized In Jesus Name

Jesus said, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:5 KJV)
If you desire to make Heaven your home, you must be "born of the water...". This means to be baptized (submersed) in water, "in the name of Jesus Christ". (Acts 2:38 KJV)

Receive The Gift Of The Holy Ghost

Just as the scripture says, the Holy Ghost is a gift. It is a free gift that God offers to everyone. Receiving the Holy Ghost is allowing God's spirit to dwell inside of you. It will continue to mold you and shape you into the person that he wants you to be. You might ask, what's the evidence that I have received the Holy Ghost? All throughout scripture, speaking in other tongues is the initial evidence of one receiving the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:4 KJV) It too, is a requirement to enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5 KJV)
